Seeking Joy!

Seeking Joy!

One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.

Helen Keller, The Story of My Life

To add some joy to the holiday season, I have some good things from 2023 to share with you.

Good Stuff Happening in the Parkinson’s World!

The Fox Foundation has been at the forefront of Advocacy for Parkinson’s in 2023. Their efforts have paid off big with the passage of the National Plan to End Parkinson’s act in the House of Representatives. Woohoo!!!!

Read their latest post here which talks about this and more accomplishments this year, such as the discovery of a biomarker for PD.

The Parkinson’s Foundation also chimed in with the Top Science News of 2023. Most of the articles are about early detection, which is so important for the long term health of people with PD.

Deadline Extended

Matthew Moore has extended the deadline for viewing his wonderful play, What I Didn’t Tell You until January 5. Watch it with your family and friends now.

Holiday Dancing with PD

Enjoy this video of the PD Christmas Dance 2023 from Elizabeth Stegemoller, Iowa State University.

If you haven’t tried to dance with PD, grab a partner and join in the fun!

Year end donations

Yeah, yeah, we know. Everyone has asked you for money. We don’t have a matching fund, we are run by volunteers and we don’t do major fundraising. But we do provide great programs for people with Parkinson’s. If you have read the blog, joined us for a Sunday Morning webinar, participated in one of our chat groups or our Mentoring Program, you know the value of Twitchy Woman. Help us to make 2024 our best year so far. It is not too late to donate to Twitchy Woman, so what are you waiting for? Click here to access our fundraising page through Pledge.*

Wishing you the best holidays ever

filled with peace, good health and lots of joy.
