Sharon Krischer was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in October, 2009 after several years of experiencing odd symptoms. Ever since she has read everything she could find on Parkinson’s with the goal of finding a way to move on – literally – and not be defeated by the disease.
A busy person prior to her diagnosis, she continues to find ways to fit more into her days than most people. Daily exercise is a key component for her to live successfully with PD. She continues to play tennis, badly, goes to yoga and boxing classes, travels around the world and more. In addition, she is often asked by friends to speak to a relative/friend/co-worker who has been newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s. As a result, Sharon started “Twitchy Woman’s Adventures with Parkinson’s” to encourage the exchange of ideas and solutions with other whose lives have been affected.
Sharon lives in Beverly Hills, California, with her very supportive husband, Joel. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.
Dear Sharon,
Have been following your blog with great interest. It would be fantastic if we were able to reproduce some of the posts on our website http://parkinsonsmovement.com/blogs/
It really helps spread awareness. We would, of course, provide a link back to yours.
best wishes

Just got diagnosed last week and it’s great to see an example of living well with Parkinson’s. Also, thanks for the book recommendations! I started on Goodbye Parkinson’s, Hello life! and realized that right now I’m about 20% Parkinson’s and 80% fear.

Dianne, thank you for your kind words. I am glad that my blog has been helpful for you. The fear that goes along with the initial diagnosis can be overwhelming. You are doing the right thing by reaching out to others and doing what you can to move past the fear. Keep smiling. It helps.

Hello, I am 54 years old and was just diagnosed 8 months ago. I have seen three different Dr.s waiting for one of them to tell me I do not have this..No such luck. I really don’t know where to begin. All the sights seem to be overwhelming for me. I just came across yours and am thrilled for all the wonderful information. Thank you

I am glad I can help. Stay away from the overwhelming websites. Find a few that you like and stick with them for a while.
